Methodology

Conversion constants

Unit converters use standard, internationally recognized conversion factors (SI and imperial/US customary definitions). These are fixed, publicly documented constants — not estimates.

Rounding policy

Each converter rounds results to a fixed number of decimal places appropriate to the unit (typically 2–6). The exact precision and formula used are shown directly on each tool's page, in the "Formula" section.

Calculator formulas

Calculators (mortgage, loan, compound interest, BMI, TDEE and others) use standard, documented formulas — for example the amortizing-loan payment formula for mortgages, or the Mifflin–St Jeor equation for BMR/TDEE. The formula used by each calculator is shown on its page, along with a disclaimer where the result is estimate-only (finance and health calculators).

Limitations

All results are estimates for informational purposes. They don't account for every real-world variable (taxes, fees, individual health conditions, lender-specific terms, etc.) and are not a substitute for professional financial, medical or legal advice.

Updates

Formulas and constants are reviewed periodically. If you find an error, please let us know via the Contact page and we'll review it.
